Mohan was from Mohali in Punjab and worked in the UAE as a curator for the Abu Dhabi stadium. Sources stated that he was found dead in his room ahead of the important clash.
The cause of death hasn’t been revealed as of yet, but the local police have opened an investigation. Certain reports also revealed that Mohan allegedly committed suicide.
Mohan was in his mid-40s and had moved to Abu Dhabi back in September 2004 after completing a training course in India at the Punjab Cricket Stadium in Mohali. He had been working there since 1994 as a ground supervisor before moving on to assist coaches.
“It is very shocking news; he was very well known to me. He was very a hard-working, committed, and ambitious person. My condolences to the family,” former chief curator of BCCI, Daljit Singh, said.
Not just Afghanistan's themselves, Team India's chances of qualification to the semi-finals too depend on them completely as only a New Zealand loss can help Virat Kohli and co advance to the knockouts, otherwise, they will be knocked out of the tournament in the group stage only. But, New Zealand beats Afghanistan by 8 wickets and they have qualified for the T20 world cup 2021 semi-finals.
