India has chosen two squads for the three-match T20I series against England, taking advantage of their extensive playing pool and preparing for the T20 World Cup. Rohit Sharma, who was unable to play in the fifth Test due to COVID-19, is back to captain India in the upcoming ODI series as well as both T20I teams (one for the first game and the other for the remaining two games).
The ODI team has included Arshdeep Singh, who impressed during the IPL 2022. He will play for the team in the opening T20I, which will feature the complete touring group that went to Ireland. They were allowed to do so because the Test squad's starters in the T20I series, Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah, Ravindra Jadeja, Shreyas Iyer, and Rishabh Pant, were rested.
In the second and third T20Is, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Sanju Samson, Rahul Tripathi, Venkatesh Iyer, and Arshdeep then make room for others. Both T20I squads include Deepak Hooda, who scored a century against Ireland.
