Shubman Gill's fifth ODI century and a counter-attacking 42 by Axar Patel were in vain as Bangladesh held their nerve to pick up a thrilling six-run win against India.
When Bangladesh batted first, they lost a few quick wickets early on, but Shakib Al Hasan and Towhid Hridoy formed an important partnership that enabled the Bangla Tigers to score 265 runs in the first innings. Hridoy made 54 runs, while the captain scored 80 runs.
India struggled to make an impression in the middle overs without Kuldeep Yadav. Bangladesh exploited this and put up a huge total on the board.
India lost wickets quickly when it came to the chase. The lone fighter was Shubman Gill, who scored 121 runs. India continued to compete. Axar Patel scored 42 runs, but ultimately the going got too rough for them. Today's game was intended to test the reserve bench, but it failed.
