The 13th season of the Big Bash League (BBL) is scheduled to begin on December 7 and conclude on January 24. Notably, the competition final will be contested in the middle of the week for the second time in the tournament's history due to Cricket Australia's hectic schedule at that point in the season. The board has been unable to locate a suitable time for the final because West Indies will be playing a day and night Test against the local squad (Jan. 25–29). On the other hand, the number of games will be decreased in the upcoming season. The league stage will only feature 40 games, followed by the Qualifier 1, Eliminator, Qualifier 2 and the Crucial Final.
The ninth season of the Women's Big Bash League (WBBL) will begin on October 19, and unlike the men's version, there won't be a reduction in the number of matches. The schedule is anticipated to be released before the end of the month, and just like in men's competition, only four teams, as opposed to five in previous years, will advance to the next round.
