At a time when the country faces the risk of a third wave in the country, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) president Sourav Ganguly tested positive for Covid 19. According to reports, he is currently in a stable state. The reports of the same came in the night, and the former captain of India has been placed in isolation.
Ganguly was admitted to the hospital after his RT-PCR test report turned out to be positive. Over the past few days, there has been an increase in the number of Covid-19 positive infections in various parts of India. The situation is reported to be more challenging in Delhi and Mumbai in terms of new cases especially of the new variant Omicron.
The emergence of this new variant of the Covid 19 had previously raised questions on India’s series in South Africa. Both the countries are scheduled to play three Tests and as many ODIs. However, ahead of the series, there were a lot of discussions on the captaincy matter.
