In Sussex's County Championship Division Two encounter against Durham in Hove on Friday, Cheteshwar Pujara got his third century in three games.
Pujara, who was left out of India's Test selection for the home series against Sri Lanka earlier this year, has been in fine form for Sussex. This is his 53rd century as a first-class player.
Pujara hit 109 off 206 balls in his second match against Worcestershire, following his 201 not out against Derbyshire in his first game of the season, which he made while his team was chasing. In that innings, Pujara became only the second Indian to reach a double-century in the County Championship, following Mohammed Azharuddin, who has two.
It also ended Pujara's streak of 52 first-class innings without a century, and it appears to have opened a floodgate for the Indian veteran, who could now be considered for selection for the national side, which plays a single Test in England soon.
