Cheteshwar Pujara, an Indian cricketer playing for Sussex in the ongoing Royal London One Day Cup, has been in outstanding batting form ever since he entered the competition. He recorded another three-figure score on Tuesday, scoring his third century of the season.
Sussex scored their highest one-day total and won the home semifinal. Pujara scored 132 runs off just 90 balls to help Sussex get 400. The opening batsman Tom Alsop scored an unbeaten 189. Middlesex's response was weak, as they kept dropping wickets at regular intervals. They eventually lost by 157 runs after being bowled out for just 243.
In the County Championship Division Two, where he is the second-highest run-scorer, Pujara has also had an outstanding season. In 13 innings, he has amassed 1094 runs at a mind-boggling average of 109.40. He went past the 200-run mark three times.
