CPL Cricket Match Update: Jamaica Tallawahs had lost their previous match to Trinbago Knight Riders, but they made a comeback the next day to record a 22-run victory against St Kitts and Nevis Patriots.
Shamarh Brooks' 43 and swift knocks from Rovman Powell and Andre Russell helped Tallawahs yield 169/8. In response, the Patriots could only provide 147/8 as the Tallawahs came up with a tight display with the ball, led by Migael Pretorius' 3-25, to pull their third win in seven live T20 matches.
Tallawah came out to bat first, with openers Kennar Lewis and Kirk McKenzie contributing 37 runs. Brooks and Powell had a 54-run partnership for the third wicket after 35 deliveries. Carlos Brathwaite got dismissed when Tallawahs' live scores were at 111/4. Patriots limited the batsmen and gained quick wickets.
"After we lost two wickets, we lost momentum and left it late," skipper Gayle explained after his team bundled up, falling short of the target but still on the top spot with only two defeats in seven matches.
