On Friday at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi, the Deccan Gladiators (DG) and Delhi Bulls (DB) will face off in Qualifier 1 of the T10 League 2021-22.
With 14 points from ten games, the Gladiators, headed by Wahab Riaz, finished the league stage on top of the points table. Their net run rate of 2.596 was also the highest among the tournament's participants. They beat the Bangla Tigers by 62 runs in their previous match.
The Gladiators racked up a massive total of 140 for the loss of one wicket after being put in to bat first. The highlight of the show was right-hander Tom Kohler-Cadmore, who hit a 39-ball 96 with 12 fours and five sixes. He had a strike rate of 246.15 percent.
Andre Russell batted first and scored an 18-ball 26. In the three balls he faced, Odean Smith also hit two sixes. The Gladiators bowled the Tigers out for 78 runs while defending the score. Wanindu Hasaranga finished with a fantastic 2-1-8-5 record.
The Bulls finished second in the points table with a net run rate of 1.047, led by Dwayne Bravo. Because they are on a three-match winning streak, the team should be confident. On Thursday, they beat Team Abu Dhabi by 49 runs in their final league game.
In their ten overs, the Bulls built a massive score of 135 for five. Rahmanullah Gurbaz led the team in scoring with a 29-ball 69. Sherfane Rutherford added a 22-ball 52 to the mix. Following that, Adil Rashid and Dominic Drakes each took three wickets to help the Bulls win.
In the ongoing T10 championship, the Gladiators defeated the Bulls both times in the league round. It's worth noting, though, that they won both matches after chasing down targets.
The Bulls have won three straight games and are full of confidence. Batting second, the team has a good chance of winning the game and qualifying for the tournament final.
