IPL News: (KKR) Wicketkeeper-batsman Dinesh Kartik has been penalised for violating the IPL 2021 code of conduct during Qualifier 2 against Delhi Capital, which KKR won by three wickets here.
The cause of the breach was not disclosed, although Karthik was spotted dislodging a stump in fury after being dismissed during Wednesday's high-octane live T20 match. Karthik, for one, acknowled
ged committing a level one offence and accepted the punishment.
"Dinesh Karthik, the Kolkata Knight Riders wicketkeeper-batsman, has been reprimanded for breaching the (IPL's Code of Conduct during his team's Qualifier 2 against Delhi Capitals at Sharjah on Wednesday 13th October," a statement issued by the IPL stated here on late Wednesday night.
"Mr Karthik admitted to the Level 1 offence 2.2 of the IPL's Code of Conduct and accepted the sanction. For Level 1 breaches of the Code of Conduct, the Match Referee's decision is final and binding," it added.
KKR overcame Delhi Capitals to set up a title match against Chennai Super Kings on Friday, with Rahul Tripathi hitting a six off the last ball of the game.
