In an incredible eight-goal, winner-takes-all title match, Dundee defeated Queen's Park to secure their return to the Scottish Premiership. Lyall Cameron and Luke McCowan's goals in the second half gave Gary Bowyer's team the victory, but only after a barely credible game that ended with a 3-3 tie after a frantic first half.
Dundee won the championship on the first try thanks to McCowan's outstanding individual performance, while Queen's will need to advance through the play-offs to gain a third consecutive promotion. After briefly appearing to be headed for promotion, Queen's Park came in third and will take on Partick Thistle at Firhill on Tuesday in the first leg of their play-off quarterfinal.
However, up to Dundee's fifth goal, these teams gave the Championship season, which went to the last day with nine of the 10 teams unsure of which division they would play in the following season, an epic conclusion.
