Sean Dyche has been hired by Everton on a two and a half year deal that runs through June 2025. Frank Lampard was fired by the Toffees last week, when the team was 19th in the Premier League and two points from relegation.
Dyche, 51, had been jobless since Burnley fired him in April of last year after nearly ten years with the Clarets. Since investing in the team in February 2016, Farhad Moshiri, the principal owner of Everton, has appointed seven different managers.
In a statement, Dyche stated it was "an honour to become Everton manager" and noted that his first game in charge will be against league-leading Arsenal at home on 4 February in the top division.
