Last year, the previous T20I series between India and Sri Lanka concluded in Sri Lanka's favor.
After a whitewash of the West Indies in the limited-overs series, India will take on Sri Lanka in a three-match T20I series beginning on February 24th. For the T20I series, India has chosen to rest key players including Virat Kohli and Rishabh Pant, but they will return for the longer format.
Sanju Samson has been recalled to the side as a backup wicketkeeper to Ishan Kishan, and the series will be a significant test for the youth.
In the meantime, Sri Lanka is coming off a 1-4 setback in Australia, although they were able to put together some positives towards the end of the series. Pathum Nissanka had a great series with the bat, while Lahiru Kumara was impressed with his pace.
Due to Covid-19, they will be without their match-winner Wanindu Hasaranga, who can turn games around with both bat and ball. So far, the wicket has been conducive to quick bowling, and both teams will try to bolster their bowling attack.
Batting first has generated better results on the wicket, and despite the dew factor, the skipper who wins the toss may be inclined to put a score on the board.
