After only seven months in command at the Mestalla, Valencia manager Gennaro Gattuso has departed from the La Liga club. Gattuso, 45, a former manager of AC Milan and Napoli, agreed to a two-year contract when he was introduced last summer.
But after Sunday's defeat at Real Valladolid, Valencia have now lost eight of their last 18 league games and are currently 14th, just one point above the bottom three. Former Italy midfielder Gattuso's exit, according to Valencia, was "agreed by mutual consent." Los Ches is now looking for its fifth manager in less than three years following his departure.
Voro Gonzalez will lead the team in the meantime during his eight time as the caretaker manager of the Club.
