MS Dhoni, the former Indian cricketer, and captain of the Chennai Super Kings have announced he will play his final T20 match in front of his beloved home fans in Chennai.
On Saturday, 20th November 2021, Dhoni announced a special award program for the 2021 IPL champions.
Dhoni addressed a celebrity-studded gathering that included Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin, BCCI Secretary Jay Shah, and legendary all-rounder Kapil Dev.
‘’I have always planned my cricket. My last game that I played was in Ranchi. So, hopefully, my last T20 will be in Chennai. Whether it's next year or in 5 years' time, we don't really know”. Dhoni said.
Last month, the Super Kings claimed their fourth title in the United Arab Emirates by defeating the Kolkata Knight Riders.
Dhoni, his CSK team, and their millions of fans were able to redeem themselves after last year's terrible season. For the first time since the inception of the IPL, the four-time champions crashed out of the league stage during the 2020 edition.
