The official pre-tournament warm-up match schedules for all 16 teams in the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2022 have been released, and games will take place in Melbourne and Brisbane. Teams for the First Round will start preparing in Melbourne, with games taking place at the Melbourne Cricket Ground and Junction Oval from October 10 to 13.
All warm-up games for teams entering the Super 12 stage will take place across two match days in Brisbane on October 17 and 19. Both The Gabba and Allan Border Field will serve as the venues for these games. On October 10 at Junction Oval, the two-time defending champions West Indies will square off against the United Arab Emirates in the first of two warm-up games that will be played by each of the First Round teams.
The only official warmup match for the hosts, Australia, will take place against India on October 17 at The Gabba. In addition to Australia, India, the current world champion, will play New Zealand on October 19 at The Gabba.
The four warm-up matches at The Gabba on October 17 and 19 will not be open to fans, however the ICC's Global Broadcast Partner Star Sports will broadcast them live. Additionally, all matches' live scores and match highlights will be available on the ICC digital channels. The warm-up matches won't have official T20 International status, as in previous ICC events.
The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 begins on October 16 when Sri Lanka faces Namibia at Kardinia Park Stadium in Geelong.
