On Sunday, the Fila Kids Junior Tennis Challenger Finals for children aged 10 to 12, a high-end teenager tennis competition in China, began at Beijing's National Tennis Center.
The final competition was held at the diamond court following the weekly competition on November 7, when the championships and silver medal winners for male and female singles matches were announced.
Since its start on September 25, the tournament has drawn a lot of attention, particularly from parents. According to rumors in the media, tickets for the open match sold out almost quickly after they were released.
According to media sources, the tournament attracted 432 youths from 15 provinces and regions, with the total number projected to approach 800.
In China, this match is the best example of a teenaged tennis competition. The tournament's opening ceremony was attended by Chinese tennis player Peng Shuai, who won two Grand Slams in women's doubles, as well as executives from China Open, a Beijing-based company focused on the promotion and organization of Chinese tennis matches, and representatives from sports brand FILA, which sponsored the tournament.
