David Warner of the Delhi Capitals (DC) hit a magnificent half-century against SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) to set a new T20 batting record. Warner scored his 89th T20 fifty in 34 balls against a formidable SRH bowling line-up, tying him with Chris Gayle for the most in the format.
Batting legends like Virat Kohli, who is third on the list with 77 fifties, is followed by Aaron Finch, who has 70 half-centuries in the T20 format. Rohit Sharma, the current captain of Team India, is ranked sixth on the list, with 69 fifties to his credit.
DC scored 207/3 in 20 overs, with Warner remaining unbeaten on 92 runs. With an undefeated half-century (67*), Rovman Powell gave solid assistance.
Warner has batted superbly at the top of the order for DC so far. He has a strike rate of more than 150 and an average of more than 50 in the IPL 2022.
The Rishabh Pant-led DC team, on the other hand, hasn't capitalised on Warner's positive contributions, as they remain in the bottom half of the table.
Gujarat Titans (GT) are the league's current leaders, having won eight of their first ten games. Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) isn't far behind with seven wins in ten games.
