India has beaten UAE by 154 runs in their first U-19 Asia Cup match here on Thursday, thanks to Harnoor Singh's fantastic century.
India scored 282/5 in 50 overs after being put in to bat, Harnoor's 120 off 130 balls. Yash Dhull (63 off 68) and Rajvardhan Hangargekar (48 not out off 23) also contributed important contributions with the bat.
The most successful bowler for UAE was Alishan Sharafu (2/44), who was one of nine bowling options chosen at the ICC Academy Ground.
In response, the UAE were bowled for 128/10 in 34.3 overs. Kai Smith (45 off 70) was the team's top scorer. India's three wickets came from Rajvardhan Hangargekar (3/24) and two each from Garv Sangwan (2/39), Vicky Oswal (2/7), and Kaushal Tamble (2/16).
India will now play against competitor Pakistan on Saturday. The tournament takes place ahead of the U-19 World Cup in the West Indies next month.
