Australia won the third ODI match at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, bringing the three-match ODI series to a successful conclusion. Despite a good effort by team India, Australia won by 21 runs.
The Men in Blue were quite consistent in their chase of 270 runs, but the opposition bowling unit worked together in crucial moments to steal the game from them. Adam Zampa was the one who delivered the vital blows that set up the rest of the bowling unit to succeed.
Even though team India fought till the end, forcing the game into the very last over, a series victory did not appear to be in their reach. Team India won the Border-Gavaskar Trophy at the end of the multi-format series, while the Australians established their dominance by rallying from behind to win the ODI series. It is noteworthy that India lost their first home international series in four years.
