Before revealing the dates for the 17th Indian Premier League (IPL), the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is still working out the last few details.
The final is expected to be played on May 26, five days before the commencement of the T20 World Cup, which is scheduled to take place in the West Indies and the United States of America. As previously reported, the governing body plans to begin the proceedings on March 22.
Only until the election dates are published can the schedule be confirmed. Officials from the BCCI are optimistic that India would host the competition for the whole duration, particularly given its performance in 2019. However, in the unlikely event that the management chooses to hold part of the league in another nation, several nations have already contacted BCCI with offers to host the next edition of the lucrative tournament.
Notably, before the IPL concludes, a few of the international cricket players may choose to withdraw and rejoin the national team. Nonetheless, BCCI has been reassured by the cricket boards that the players will be accessible until the final. However, if the players choose to reduce their workload in advance of the major competition, the decision could be reversed.
