On Thursday, Islamabad United (ISL) will face Peshawar Zalmi (PES) in the 24th match of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2022 at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.
Peshawar Zalmi is coming off back-to-back beatdowns of Quetta Gladiators and Karachi Kings. They're on track to finish in the top four, and they're the only team in PSL history to qualify for the playoffs every season. They will, however, be up against Islamabad United, who have won four of their seven games this season.
Due to the absence of Shadab Khan and Zeeshan Zameer, Islamabad has enough firepower to defeat Zalmi. In Lahore, a strong competitive beckons with two vital points on the line.
The pitch at Gaddafi Stadium is a little slower, so batters will have to fight hard for their runs in the middle innings. There won't be many swings on offer with the new ball, allowing the batters some breathing room. As the match progresses, the spinners will get some turn. With dew likely to involve in the second innings, wickets in hand will be important once again. With both teams ideally looking to chase after winning the toss, 160-170 should be a decent total.
