Manchester City Tops Group A of the 2021/2022 Champions League after defeating PSG yesterday night. The match at the Etihad Stadium ended in a 2-1 victory for Man City.
The first half was a big battle. Both teams were unable to score a goal. Then, in the 50th minute, PSG seized the lead thanks to a goal by Kylian Mbappe, who put the ball between Ederson Moraes' legs.
Man City then replied through Raheem Sterling's goal in the 73rd minute. The Citizen ensured victory through a goal scored by Gabriel Jesus in the 76th minute. Jesus himself only played in the 54th minute.
Guardiola said that Wednesday's comeback in the Champions League has been "a good lesson." City, which started losing on a goal from Kylian Mbappé, came back with goals from Raheem Sterling and Gabriel Jesús.
“It was a good game. They are always in danger when they have the ball in the last three quarters, but, as in the first game, we were good. We were unlucky that in the first half we didn't convert our chances. After his goal we had a shock of ten minutes, but then we got better,” Guardiola
“We were already classified, but today we had a good game against a great team. In the last five or six years we have reached the round of 16. I'm delighted with it,” added the Catalan coach.
PSG, on the other hand, should not be disappointed because they have already qualified for the last 16 as a runner-up.
