In the Plava Laguna Croatia Open Umag final on Sunday, players Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz will rematch four weeks after their four-set Wimbledon match. On Saturday night, Sinner defeated qualifier Franco Agamenone 6-1, 6-3 to advance to the finals after Alcaraz defeated Giulio Zeppieri in a three-set match.
The Spaniard won their first clash last November at the Rolex Paris Masters. Their third ATP Head2Head matchup will take place in the title match. During their 2019 ATP Challenger Tour encounter, Alcaraz prevailed in three sets on the clay in Alicante.
The matchup between Sinner and Alcaraz at Wimbledon featured two of the ATP Tour's top prospects, and Sinner prevailed 6-1, 6-4, 6-7(8), 6-3. Both Sinner and Alcaraz, who both won five ATP Tour titles at a young age, triumphed at the season-ending Intesa Sanpaolo Next Gen ATP Finals, which marked the transfer of the two young players from gifted juniors to Top 10 stars.
