England defeated Ukraine easily at Wembley to keep their winning streak in the Euro 2024 qualifying matches going. With an effective performance that was more than enough to defeat the visitors, Gareth Southgate's team capitalised on the success of their first away victory against Italy since 1961.
Eight minutes before halftime, Harry Kane, the nation's leading scorer with 55 goals overall, headed in Bukayo Saka's cross at the far post to give England its first lead of the game. The second goal came three minutes later and was entirely Saka's doing. On the outskirts of the box, the Arsenal winger turned away from his defender and curled an excellent attempt past Anatoliy Trubin and into the top corner.
James Maddison of Leicester City impressed on his first England start, and Ivan Toney of Brentford earned his first cap as a late substitute after there was no real threat of a Ukrainian comeback.
