New Zealand cricketer Kane Williamson created history by surpassing his old teammate Ross Taylor, to become New Zealand's leading run-scorer in the red-ball format.
Williamson accomplished this during the second Test, played against England, on Day 4 in Wellington. He continued from his overnight score of 25 and it only took him one delivery to attain the milestone. Both the spectators and his team mates in the dressing room applauded him.
Ross Taylor, who for long years held the record for most Test runs scored for his nation, praised Williamson. He congratulated Williamson on his outstanding achievement by posting on Twitter. "Congratulations Kane for becoming NZ’s highest Test run-scorer. This achievement is a testament to your hard work and dedication to Test Cricket, of which I was privy to for a number of years. Here’s to many more,".
