Kane Williamson, the captain of New Zealand, will miss the third and final Twenty20 match of the current series against India because he has to travel to a scheduled medical appointment. Tim Southee, a seasoned Kiwi pacer, has been selected as the replacement captain for the last T20I in Napier.
Prior to the One Day Internationals on Friday, November 25, the Kiwi captain will rejoin the team. Williamson was expected to miss some of the action during the home series in order to manage his responsibilities during a busy schedule, it was already announced before to the commencement of the home series.
“Kane’s been trying to get this booked in for a while now, but unfortunately it hasn’t been able to fit into our schedule. The health and well-being of our players and staff is paramount, and we look forward to seeing him in Auckland”, NZ Cricket said in an official statement ahead of the third T20I.
