The bowler Mohammad Hasnain has reportedly been denied permission from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to play for the Galle Gladiators in the Lanka Premier League 2022. Although he was a member of Pakistan's T20 World Cup team, the 22-year-old did not participate in any of the games. Hasnain was turned down for the current LPL because the Pakistani management wants to train him for the future.
According to reports, the PCB wants Hasnain to participate in the Pakistan Cup, which will start on December 10 in Karachi. The two-time champion Gladiators have chosen renowned Pakistani pacer Wahab Riaz to take Hasnain's position in the meantime. The 37-year-old played in the Kusal Mendis-led team's opening match of the season against Jaffna Kings and claimed two wickets for 23 runs in four overs.
In addition to Riaz, seven more Pakistani cricketers will participate in the third Lanka Premier League. The Gladiators will be represented by Asad Shafiq, Iftikhar Ahmed, Imad Wasim, Wahab Riaz, and Anwar Ali, while the Dambulla Aura will be represented by Haider Ali and Ahmed Daniyal. On the other hand, Shoaib Malik will carry on with the reigning champions Jaffna Kings.
