Liverpool’s Diogo Jota has extended his contract for the long term, pledging his loyalty to the team. The new contract for the 25-year-old, who joined Liverpool from Wolves in the summer of 2020 and has made 85 appearances while tallying 34 goals, is thought to last until 2027.
Following Sadio Mane's departure for Bayern Munich this summer, Jota joined teammate Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah in signing a new contract with the organisation.
After sustaining a hamstring injury while representing Portugal on the international stage in June, Jota has been out from both of Liverpool's preseason games and Saturday's Community Shield victory over Manchester City. He confirmed that the issue is set to keep him out for a "few more weeks", almost certainly ruling him out of Saturday's Premier League opener at newly-promoted Fulham and the following matchday's clash with Crystal Palace at Anfield.
