Maintaining a plan, according to India pacer Jasprit Bumrah, will be important on the road to the 2023 Cricket World Cup. With only a year and ten months till the mega event in India, the 1983 and 2011 winners will use the next three-match ODI series against South Africa, which begins on Wednesday, to determine the crucial cogs in the 50-overs wheel.
"In order to know the path we need to take ahead of the 2023 World Cup, we need to keep a vision." If there are any new players, or if we need to go in a different way, the preparations will begin in advance. We shall make every effort to provide everyone with equal opportunity. As a result, I believe that preserving a plan is essential." said Bumrah on Monday.
"It will be appreciated if each series is given equal weight and if you stay in the present and try to figure out what has to be done in that scenario. However, maintaining a vision is critical, and we will make every effort to do so "Bumrah, the vice-captain for the ODI series against South Africa, remarked.
After playing the Test series, Bumrah said of his approach to the 50-over matches, " "You must make progress. It's a different game format totally. The game's speed changes, and the physical demand on the body decreases. We need to perform all the tasks at hand. It's a more compact format with a faster speed."
"As a bowler, you must quickly assess and play with the various aspects of what you must perform as a bowling unit. That is the change I am most excited to make, as well as trying to move the team ahead."
"Everyone is respectful and aware of the systems in place. We are content since change is the only constant. Everyone is contributing and learning a great deal of knowledge, and everyone is attempting to contribute to it. Nobody, in my view, is having a problem or is in a different space as a result of the change."
"Everyone understands the change and has played enough cricket to know that this is how change works and how you must progress. Everyone on the staff is upbeat and motivated to contribute to the change that is now taking place."
