Mrittunjoy Chowdhury, an uncapped speed bowler, has been included to Bangladesh's 15-man ODI team for the forthcoming three-match series against Ireland beginning on May 9 in Chelmsford.
After playing for Chattogram Challengers in the Bangladesh Premier League, Mrittunjoy gained attention. The left-arm pace bowler can bat lower in the order and was effective during a previous trip of the West Indies with Bangladesh A.
Taskin Ahmed, who was unable to play in the lone Ireland Test owing to a left side strain, did not make the cut. Shoriful Islam, a fast bowler, and Taijul Islam, a left-arm spinner, are both back in the team. Nasum Ahmed, another left-arm spinner, lost his spot even after playing effectively against Ireland.
Before the trip officially begins, Litton Das and Mustafizur Rahman are anticipated to return from the current season of the Indian Premier League.
Bangladesh are slated to play the next two games against Ireland respectively on May 12 and 14.
