The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has asked its four prominent cricketers to report for the fitness Tests slated to be conducted on May 25 (Wednesday). The four cricketers include wicketkeeper-batter Umar Akmal, Sohaib Maqsood, Haris Sohail, and Sharjeel Khan.
As per reports in Cricket Pakistan, the above-mentioned players were first asked for a physical assessment by the local board and are now called in for fitness Tests in the hot weather of Lahore. After informing about their availability, the Pakistani players got a text from the PCB about the fitness tests. The fitness test involves a two-kilometer run among other physical exercises
The above-mentioned players will now go through a two-kilometre run in seven and a half minutes with several physical exercises. It must be noted that all these four players are not currently part of the conditioning camp. At present, Umar Akmal, Maqsood, Sohail, and Sharjeel are not part of the Pakistan national team.
Pakistan’s last international assignment concluded in April this year, when they hosted Australia for a three-match Test series, followed by a three-match ODI series and a one-off T20I. While the hosts stood victorious in the ODI series, the visitors clinched the Test series and a one-off T20I. Pakistan will next be hosting the West Indies for an ODI series in June before flying to Ireland. Skipper Babar Azam and his men will be looking to have a good outing against both West Indies and Ireland.
