Rohit Sharma, who is frequently regarded as one of cricket's legends, recently shared in an open interview with Dinesh Karthik how much he admires his teammate and role model, Virat Kohli.
It has been noted that Virat Kohli has been missing from the current series against England for personal reasons. India captain Rohit has some enlightening things to say about this. He disclosed that he has closely observed Kohli and that not many people are aware of the strict regimen he follows off the field. He also praised him by pointing out that the great batter never attended Bengaluru's National Cricket Academy (NCA), which is where most players go to address fitness-related concerns.
As a result, this clearly demonstrates the high level of fitness that Kohli has preserved throughout the years, making him a fantastic role model for young people everywhere. Although there have been questions over Kohli's absence, Rohit praised the captain for his unwavering dedication to fitness and development.
“I feel lucky to watch Virat Kohli from a close range. He is passionate about the game and is always there with the team. People are unaware about what he does off the field to keep going. Virat is dedicated and hunger grows with every series,” Sharma told Karthik on JioCinema.
"He has never been to the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru for any fitness-related issues and not even for some cricket development programs. Youngsters should learn from him about the hunger to improve their game. Apart from personal reasons, Virat doesn’t stay away from the squad. He is always there. He can rest if he wants and take things easy. But that’s not the case with him," Sharma further added.
