Dubai Capitals have confirmed the signings of West Indian power batter Rovman Powell and Sri Lankan white-ball captain Dasun Shanaka for the inaugural season of the UAE International League T20.
In addition to Rovman Powell and Dasun Shanaka, all-rounder Fabian Allen of the Windies, Mujeeb Ur Rahman of Afghanistan, Sikandar Raza of Zimbabwe, pacer Dushmantha Chameera of Sri Lanka, and his countryman Bhanuka Rajapaksa are also signed by the GMR group.
The prestigious UAE league is scheduled to start in January of next year and has already gained multi-year clearance from the ICC, the world's top cricketing organisation. 34 games will be played in the league, all of which will take place in the magnificent cricket stadiums of Dubai, Sharjah, and Abu Dhabi. The league's other team owners include Reliance Industries, Kolkata Knight Riders, Capri Global, Lancer Capital, and Adani Sportsline.
