Holger Rune didn't waste any time on Saturday winning 6-4, 6-1, 6-3, ending Genaro Alberto Olivieri's run and advancing to the fourth round at Roland Garros for the second year in a row.
Gael Monfils gave the 20-year-old a walkover in the second round, and he played well against the Argentine qualifier. The sixth seed made wide cuts at the ball to hit 35 winners, and he came back after two hours with unrelenting aggression and depth.
Rune made his debut in Paris last year and reached the quarterfinals. This time around, he will play either the ninth-seeded Taylor Fritz or the 23rd-seeded Francisco Cerundolo in the fourth round.
