In a late-night final on Saturday, Elena Rybakina defeated an injured Anhelina Kalinina to win her second championship of the year at the Internazionali BNL d'Italia 6-4, 1-0, ret. Due to a left thigh injury, Kalinina withdrew from the final match.
Rain delayed play for the majority of the day, and when No. 30 seed Kalinina was unable to continue after 65 minutes, No. 7 seed Rybakina won the match and the championship. Rybakina had fallen to Kalinina in their lone prior encounter, which took place on Charleston's clay courts the previous year.
Rybakina is tied for second position on the tour with World No. 1 Iga Swiatek after winning 28 matches at the tour level this year. Only Aryna Sabalenka, the current Australian Open champion and World No. 2, has more victories (29).
