Australia vs. Sri Lanka, 4th ODI Highlights: Sri Lanka defeated Australia by four runs to take a commanding 3-1 series lead. The hosts got wickets at regular intervals after giving Australia a 259-run goal until 19 runs were required off the final over. By hitting three fours in the over to reduce the requirement for five off the final ball, Matthew Kuhnemann made things interesting. Dasun Shanaka, though, struck out the Australian hitter to enable his team earn a four-win victory.
Australia finished on 254 all out after 50 overs, with David Warner scoring 99, after Sri Lanka was dismissed for 258 in 49 overs. Charith Asalanka scored his first one-day century and saved Sri Lanka from a top order collapse. After being given the opportunity to bat first, the hosts fell to 34-3, losing two wickets apiece to fast bowlers Pat Cummins, Mitchell Marsh, and spinner Matthew Kuhnemann. In the second over of the innings, wicketkeeper-batsman Niroshan Dickwella was stumped for one by Glenn Maxwell's off-spin. Kusal Mendis was quickly sent back by Cummins for 14, and previous match hero Pathum Nissanka was knocked down by Marsh off 13 runs. However, a 101-run combination between left-handed Asalanka (110) and Dhananjaya de Silva (60), who mixed caution and aggression, helped their team get back to a reasonable total.
