In a recent interview mentioned in a cricket news article, BCCI president Sourav Ganguly predicted that Team India will win the T20 World Cup in the UAE under Virat Kohli.
Sourav Ganguly, president of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), believes Team India will be a strong contender to win the 2021 ICC T20 World Cup in the United Arab Emirates.
In the Super 12s, India will face Pakistan on October 24 in Dubai before facing New Zealand on October 31, Afghanistan on November 3, Scotland on November 5, and a qualifier on November 5.
The Men in Blue will be vying for their second T20 World Cup championship, following their victory in 2007, which was won under MS Dhoni, who is now mentoring Virat Kohli's squad in this edition.
"India has got so much talent, so we will always be a contender. We have as much a chance of winning this World Cup as we had in the first.
"In the 2019 World Cup, we lost in the semis, so we have to win the big matches to win the World Cup. We are hopeful, but you can't say anything, especially in T20 cricket.
Sourav Ganguly said, "There is very little time in a match, but definitely, India will be a contender." The national team is one of the favourites to win the T20 World Cup tournament.
In Dubai, India warmed up for the event with two convincing victories over England and Australia in warm-up matches. In Group 2, India is up against Pakistan, Afghanistan, New Zealand, and two qualifiers.
