Gareth Southgate has stated that the FA has written to the Premier League to request that no match involving the "big six" take place on the weekend before the 2022 World Cup.
According to ESPN, the Football Association has requested that no games featuring Arsenal, Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester United, Manchester City, and Liverpool take place on November 12-13, the final weekend before the Qatar World Cup. The Premier League's match schedule for the 2022/23 season will be released on Thursday, and England manager Southgate has expressed his optimism that the aforementioned request will be taken into consideration to aid his team's preparations for the event.
On November 21, England's first match of the tournament will take place in Doha, where they will face Iran. The USA will be in the same group as the Three Lions, as will Wales, who defeated Ukraine in the playoff final last week to qualify for only their second World Cup.
