Sri Lanka revealed their new jersey for the upcoming T20 World Cup in Australia. The current Asian champions will take part in qualifiers in an effort to advance to the Super 12 stage of the competition. The jersey was launched by an official unveiling featuring the Sri Lankan white-ball skipper Dasun Shanaka.
Sri Lanka surprised all odds by winning the 15th Asia Cup, which recently concluded, by defeating pre-tournament favorites Pakistan and India and taking home their sixth Asia Cup championship. While the nation was going through a political and financial crisis, Dasun Shanka led an exciting group of players to eventual victory.
The new jersey captures the feelings of the Sri Lankan people, who have been living through a terrible period in the island country since the beginning of the year. The jersey was created by MAS Holding, which has long been the most dependable provider of cricket-related gear. The two recently released jerseys were created with recent climate change challenges in mind.
The Sri Lankan Cricket board shared the pictures of the newly unveiled jersey via a post from their official Twitter handle, which read, "Unveiling Sri Lanka Cricket Jersey for the ICC #T20WorldCup 2022!"
