After a disappointing BBL10 season, Hobart will be looking to make a good comeback this season, and they certainly have the squad to do so.
Matt Wade was left out of the Test squad, but he will captain this team, and if he plays most of their matches, they're gonna win a lot. He just came off a good T20 World Cup 2021, so he can score runs with confidence.
The rest of this batting lineup looks great as well. Peter Handscomb, D'arcy Short, and Ben McDermott can all score big runs, including McDermott's three half-centuries last BBL10 season.
The bowling attack has improved in recent years, with Nathan Ellis' rising star being one of the biggest. The 27-year-old is one of the best T20 bowlers in the country.
Sandeep Lamichhane is a talented spinner and will only get better as he continues to play, while Scott Boland and Riley Meredith have been in this field long enough to be trusted with important responsibilities.
Wade's availability, McDermott's striking power, and the bowling attack make the Hurricanes a strong team this year, and they should improve on their BBL10 performances.
Player to watch this season 2021-22 from Hobart Hurricanes side – Harry Brook(England)
He scored 163 runs in the group stages of the 2020 T20 Blast back home in England, averaging over 50 runs and striking over 50 wickets.
The England international switched to No.4 for Yorkshire this season, where he performed well, and his performances in The Hundred for Northern Superchargers also caught the attention of many cricket fans.
Brook, who is only 22 years old, is a future international player who will be looking to make an impression on the Hurricanes in the upcoming BBL season.
Hobart Hurricanes Strength: Top-order batting of Wade/McDermott.
Hobart Hurricanes Weakness: bowling depth.
