According to the schedule issued to state associations by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), the Ranji Trophy 2022 would begin on February 10.
The event will be split into two parts: pre-IPL and post-IPL. The tournament's first phase will take place between February 10 and March 15. In the first half, which will last 34 days, a total of 57 matches will be played. Between May 30 and June 26, the second phase will be played.
The top-ranked plate team will compete against the bottom-ranked Proper and efficient in the pre-quarterfinals for a spot in the quarterfinals. After three rounds of league matches, a total of nine teams will qualify for the knockouts: eight from the elite and one from the plate.
The winning team from the qualifier will compete in the tournament's second phase against seven other teams in the last-eight stage. After the pre-quarterfinal game, the quarterfinal draw will be made public.
Ahmedabad, Kolkata, Rajkot, Gurugram, Rohtak, Delhi, Guwahati, Cuttack, Thiruvananthapuram, and Chennai will play the Ranji Trophy.
