This week's intense battle on the ATP Challenger Tour resulted in victories for David Goffin, Gregoire Barrere, and Federico Coria. All three Challenger winners on Sunday came from the Top 100 of the Pepperstone ATP Rankings, playing on surfaces ranging from clay in Chile to indoor hard courts in Western Europe.
Belgian favourite Goffin won the BW Open by dropping just one set the entire week. After contracting a sickness in Melbourne that prevented him from playing in the season's first Slam, the former World No. 50 made the best use of a wild card. The top seed defeated Mikael Ymer, ranked 69th in the world, 6-4, 6-1, after converting six of his 13 break points in the championship match.
In Quimper, France, second seed Barrere defeated fellow countryman Arthur Fils 6-1, 6-4 in the title match to win his sixth Challenger title. While top seed Federico Coria won the Challenger Dove Men+Care Concepcion in Chile to claim his sixth Challenger crown defeating Timofey Skatov of Kazakhstan 6-4, 6-3 in the title match.
