Stefanos Tsitsipas easily defeated Austrian Sebastian Ofner on Sunday, setting up a thrilling quarterfinal matchup at Roland Garros against Carlos Alcaraz.
Tsitsipas reacted with a statement effort of his own after Alcaraz earlier in the day against Lorenzo Musetti demonstrated impeccable form. Tsitsipas lost service just once en route to a 7-5, 6-3, 6-0 triumph. Ofner put up fight right away and looked ready to force his favourite rival into a first-set tie-break. On set point, the Austrian hit a forehand wide, but Tsitsipas pounced on the opportunity to advance.
In the one-hour, 48-minute match, the Greek made just 12 unforced errors compared to 27 wins. Since the first round against Jiri Vesely, he has not dropped a set.
