Team India is getting criticised for their poor performance in the ICC T20 World Cup 2021. They lost both of their matches against Pakistan and New Zealand and may get knocked out of the Event. It saddens all the supporters and people worldwide because the Men in Blue were the favourites competing.
Many cricket analysts have voiced their opinions on India's poor batting and bowling performances. The batting unit has struggled to score runs on several occasions, while the bowling unit has struggled to dismiss the batters with its weak deliveries. Overall, Virat Kohli and his team have put up a poor display!
Wasim Akram, a former Pakistan captain is dissatisfied with India's performance. He also criticised the players and the board for neglecting the live international cricket series and focusing solely on the IPL. In addition, Akram stated that performing in the IPL and international series are two different things and that India lacked match practise before the T20 World Cup.
“India last played limited-overs series with all the senior players in March. Now we are in November. So that shows they are not taking those international series seriously. They think playing the IPL is enough,” Akram said following India’s defeat to New Zealand.
“You play as much league cricket in the world that you want. While playing league cricket, you will find one or two good bowlers in the opposition. In international cricket, you will face all five good bowlers,” he added.
