Brighton had a strong start to the season, and were in contention for a top-four finish, but the autumn and winter months brought back old issues for the Seagulls. They were difficult to beat but failed to score, but a comeback since Christmas has put them in the top half of the standings at the halfway point of the season.
They are unbeaten in four games in all competitions, with two league victories and an FA Cup extra-time victory against West Bromwich Albion last weekend.
Crystal Palace also won a cup match against a Championship club last weekend, defeating Millwall, and with three victories and a draw in their past six games, they will be quite confident heading to the south coast on Friday.
The addition of Patrick Vieira in the summer has steered the Eagles in a new direction, and the plethora of goals has been a welcome sight. This season, they have failed to score in only 30% of their games, compared to 39.5 percent in the previous two Premier League campaigns.
Palace has scored in five of their previous six games but has only kept one clean sheet in that time, while Brighton has scored in six of their past seven games but has only kept one clean sheet. In addition, in eight of the last nine games between these two teams, both teams have scored.
Three of the last five meetings have finished in a 1-1 draw, which is a result Brighton is used to.
