Due to 'severe mandatory quarantine requirements for children on their return home,' New Zealand has withdrawn from the men's U-19 World Cup in 2022. Scotland failed to qualify for the Europe qualifier, and as a result of New Zealand's absence, they have now qualified as the 16th team.
Between January 14 and February 5, 2022, the U-19 World Cup will be placed in the West Indies. The 14th edition of the U19 World Cup will feature 16 countries competing in four groups across ten locations in Antigua and Barbuda, Guyana, St Kitts, and Nevis, and Trinidad and Tobago for the title.
The tournament will feature 16 warm-up games, which will take place in St Kitts and Nevis and Guyana between January 9 and 12. On January 14, the main tournament will begin with West Indies taking on Australia and Sri Lanka taking on Scotland.
