For the upcoming ICC World Test Championship (WTC) final against India, which will be contested at The Oval in London from June 7 to 12, Australia has made a last-minute change to its 15-member squad. The seasoned seamer Josh Hazlewood has been ruled out of the crucial Test because to a persistent achilles and side issue.
Due to an injury, the 32-year-old had been out of action. After playing in a few games for the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) during the 16th Indian Premier League (IPL) season in 2023, he left India before it was through. He was selected for Australia's team and started getting ready for the one-off Test. Prior to the major event, Australia has decided not to take any chances with the right-armer.
Hazlewood is anticipated to be available for selection during the summer's first Ashes Test in Birmingham. The Australia vs. England Ashes in 2023 will start on June 16 and end on July 31.
