Several players of India Under 19 team have been placed in isolation after getting the Covid-19 virus, in what can only be defined as a major development. Yash Dhull, the captain, and vice-captain SK Rasheed are among the players who have been affected, and it remains to be seen how this incident would affect the ongoing U19 World Cup in the Caribbean Islands.
According to reports, as many as six Indian camp players had returned with positive findings. As a result, putting together a proper XI for the ongoing second match versus Ireland proved difficult. The International Cricket Council (ICC) has given the Indian team a 17-member squad for the tournament. As a result, the Boys in Blue took to the field.
Apart from Dhull and Rasheed, Manav Parakh, Siddarth Yadav, Aaradhya Yadav, and Vasu Vats are the other isolated players. In fact, the situation is so bad that the team management had to send coaches to the field to give drinks to the players.
"We hear that several players have had close contact with Covid positive players, and the players have been isolated as a caution." The team's management has gained from the fact that they are playing Ireland. Reports source as stating, "The team wants to reduce danger ahead of the important matches."
Meanwhile, the Indian squad has had a fantastic start to the tournament, winning their first match by 45 runs against South Africa. India was out for just 232 while batting first at the Providence Stadium in Guyana, so it wasn't clearly a comfortable win for the Yash Dhull-led side.
The bowlers, on the other hand, dragged India back into the race, as South Africa's chase was far from easy. The Proteas were bowled out for just 187 runs, with Vicky Ostwal taking five wickets and Raj Bawa dismissing four batters. Meanwhile, in the present match against Ireland, India U19 does not appear to be missing any significant players.
Angkrish Raghuvanshi and Harnoor Singh put their side on the front foot with a 164-run partnership for the first wicket. As a result, the Irish team will need to put forth a massive effort to get back into the game.
