Meanwhile, former Pakistan captain Wasim Akram, who was a part of the same panel, picked India, Pakistan, England, and West Indies as the four semi-finalists for the T20 World Cup.
While Gavaskar echoed Akram’s views on the semi-finalists, he feels no team starts as favourites. “I don’t look at either team as a favourite. The team that handles the pressure well on the day, the team that can control its mistakes, like no balls, can do well,” he stated. The 72-year-old also advised other teams to beware of West Indies.
